EinrideFrontend Engineer

March 2022 to March 2023

When I joined Einride, the team was just embarking on an exciting adventure to create a whole new ecosystem of web applications, all contained under the name Einride Saga.

Einride has big visions and wants to shape a future where electric trucks are the norm and the transport industry is autonomous, more sustainable and more efficient than ever.

The Saga ecosystem is a big part of that journey and provides a way to orchestrate everything from when and how much the trucks need to be charged, planning the routes, schedule shipments, instructions and communications with the drivers and much more.

My role in the Einride Saga project

I had the privilege of collaborating with a talented group of developers to lay the groundwork and core functionality for several initial app versions. These early builds eventually transitioned to dedicated teams, each taking ownership of their respective applications.

In addition to app development, I played a key role in establishing the design system for Saga, crafting reusable components that would be utilized across all applications within the ecosystem. This experience not only honed my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for cohesive design and enhancing user experience.

Moving to the Platforms team

When our work with the initial apps was complete, I transitioned to the Saga Platforms team. Here I focused on building and managing essential services that enhance user interaction within the ecosystem.

My work here included developing features for authentication, authorization, user settings, IAM policies, analytics, and navigation — ensuring a seamless experience as users traverse the various applications.

One of my proudest contributions was the development of an internal admin app. This tool mirrors the API and CLI functionality created by our team, empowering the Operations team to swiftly set up new customers within Saga and manage user permissions with ease.

Some personal takeaways

Working at Einride was a great and enriching experience. I got to work with a bunch of highly skilled developers, but more importantly great people! I had the pleasure of contributing to a new and exciting project, with the goal of electrifying the transport industry and reduce carbon emissions on a global scale. I'm proud to have been a part of that journey.
